Live-service shooter Rogue Company has scrubbed all Dr Disrespect DLC

Rogue Company has scrubbed all mentions of Dr Disrespect from the game.
The free-to-play multiplayer live-service shooter – which was heavily promoted by Guy “Dr Disrespect” Beahm – hadn’t been updated in over a year.
But within weeks of the news that Beahm had allegedly been sending sexually explicit messages to a minor via Twitch, developer First Watch Game and publisher Hi-Rez Studios had updated the game to remove all content affiliated with the streamer.

Sonic Team head wants to make a Sonic RPG before he retires from Sega

Sonic Team head Takashi Iizuka would love to make a Sonic RPG before he retires from Sega, though that’s just a dream.

Iizuka was interviewed by YouTube channel Good Vibes Gaming for a preview of the forthcoming Sonic x Shadow Generations and discussed whether he’d ever work on a Sonic RPG in future.

“Personally, I really like role-playing games,” he said. “The RPG game format is a lot of fun and I’ve even thought to myself ‘you know, for the past 30 years we haven’t done a Sonic RPG’. And I’m questioning myself. ‘Why haven’t we done a Sonic RPG in all this time? How have we gotten to 30 years with no RPGs?!’

LA Noire developers are working on a new 40s thriller called Sowden House

UPDATE 7/7/25:: Video Games Deluxe has refuted rumours that a new LA Noire game could be on the way.

In a statement to press, the team said: “We are working exclusively on projects for Rockstar.

We commissioned some music from a local composer Freyja Garbett for a VR project that we were working on a number of years ago when between projects. It is based on a case from LA Noire that did not make the cut but was more of a tech demo than anything else.

“We have no idea whether this will ever see the light of day but we decided to finish the score commission to support a local composer.”

Garbett’s Instagram posts have since been deleted.
Original story follows.

Amazon's latest MMO import Throne and Liberty gets off to a strong start on Steam despite mixed reviews

Throne and Liberty – the latest South Korean free-to-play fantasy MMO to get a western release courtesy of Amazon Games – is off to a strong start this week, hovering near the top of Steam’s concurrent charts (albeit still behind that infernal Banana game) despite mixed reviews.

Currently, Throne and Liberty – which promises exploration and “massive-scale combat” for “thousands of players at once” across a “dynamic” open world – is Steam’s sixth most played game, with 251K concurrent players according to SteamDB. That puts it just behind Black Myth: Wukong, Banana, PUBG, and perennial Steam favourites Dota 2 and Counter-Strike 2.

It’s a strong start for Throne and Liberty, but its early launch week peak of 326,377 concurrent players pales in comparison to Ama…

Epic launches major new lawsuit in app store fight, this time against Samsung and Google

UPDATE 1/10/24 9am UK: Today brings fresh condemnation from Google of Epic’s latest legal foray. A statement this morning from Dave Kleidermacher, VP Engineering, Android Security and Privacy, shared with Eurogamer, describes the litigation against Google and Samsung as “dangerous”.

“Epic’s latest lawsuit is a meritless and dangerous move,” Kleidermacher said. “Google did not request that Samsung create their Auto Blocker feature.”

Epic has argued that Samsung’s introduction of a new security feature, Auto Blocker, unfairly restricts competition by dissuading users from downloads made outside of Google and Samsung’s own stores.

“While Android allows sideloading, Google and the security community have warned users for years about the real risks associated with …
